The Alleycat Cafe has been trading for more than ten years from a ‘hole-in-the-wall’ off Street 19 in Phnom Penh. Despite its small size, the tex-mex restaurant has hosted many legendarily-good live music nights and, in 2009, was the birthplace of the band The Cambodian Space Project. Each Sunday, The Alleycat Cafe is the venue for the ‘Sunday Sundowner Sessions’ – an acoustic open mic which always attracts great musicians and songwriters in Phnom Penh. The popular Sundowners event was created by Tasmanian singer Scott Bywater at the now-defunct Rubies Bar in 2013. Joe is proud to host the weekly early-evening session at The Alleycat Cafe.
