Joe Wrigley Music Launch Night at Duplex is huge success
Saturday 12th March 2016
Duplex was rocking on Saturday like it has never rocked before. Three ‘Joe Wrigley Music’ acts took to the stage from 8pm, and there was even a special guest set by Clay George.
VIP guests were in attendance from earlier on in the night. There was quite a crowd already when the first act Blueberry Moonboys opened proceedings. Steve Sutcliffe really tore into his electric violin, ripping through some swing jazz numbers:
Steve also joined Clay at the end of his acoustic set. After a few minutes break, Miss Sarawan Acoustic Trio were on stage. Dressed in a sparkling dress, Miss Sarawan received a very warm welcome from the Duplex crowd.
Jeff, Joe and Miss Sarawan treated the audience to their tasty acoustic textures. By the time the set was over, the venue was getting pretty packed as passers-by joined the party.
Time to take things up a gear! Joe Wrigley & The Jumping Jacks launched into a terrific rock’n’roll set. Things got even crazier later on when Jeff Sleeman, Steve Sutcliffe and Miss Sarawan got back on stage for a jam session. What a great night!
A long afternoon setting up and a near-four-hour show were at an end. The Jumping Jacks band T-shirts were nearly sold out, too! All that was left was to say ‘goodnight’ and thanks to the boss of Duplex, Geert !
